Art, Scents, Food & Wine

We start at the medieval Ponte Vecchio and stroll through quaint streets lined with century old stone towers and palaces.

We continue to the religious center, and then the Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy to be inebriated by the scents of potpourris and fragrances of perfumes.

Final stop at the colorful and lively San Lorenzo food market to enjoy tastes and flavors of the Tuscan cuisine and wines.

A perfect mix of a wine , food and art tour to see the lesser-known aspects of Florence in a thoroughly enjoyable way.

Meeting point: under the three arches in the middle of Ponte Vecchio on the side opposite the bust of Cellini, near the fountain, at 09.30 am.

Hidden Florence & Great Italian Painters

This tour begins in the neighborhood across the river know as "Oltrarno", or the artisans district , a perfect opportunity to have an insider’s view of Florence away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. We stroll down the side streets to view the workshops while observing the elegant historical buildings and noble palaces before reaching the Uffizi Gallery.

The Uffizi were originally built to house the offices of the "Magistrates", strategically located next to the duke’s government palace. The duke then had a passage way built to connect the government palace both to the administrative offices and to his palatial residence on the other side of the river. This mansion is known as Palazzo Pitti, the surname of the first owners of the building.

The Uffizi Gallery impresses the visitor not only for its magnificent architecture but also for the endless number of masterpieces, in particular of the Italian Renaissance. We’ll view some of the major works by great masters such as Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo and Michelangelo while admiring the breathtaking views of the city from the Gallery windows. The tour ends inside the museum to have more time to enjoy this unique collection.

Special Art Cafè

With less than 10 participants you’ll be invited to have a coffee break inside the Uffizi café with your guide to exchange opinions. Guests in smaller groups will be encouraged to interact directly with the guide during the tour.

Meeting point: under the three arches in the middle of Ponte Vecchio on the side opposite the bust of Cellini, near the fountain, at 02.45 pm

Michelangelo & Florence Accademia

This tour starts at the medieval Ponte Vecchio bridge on the river Arno

We walk from the bridge past old lesser-known side streets to the political center of the city which nowadays is an outdoor museum of famous sculptures. Not far away are some quaint medieval streets which lead to the neighborhood of the father of the Italian language: Dante Alighieri.

Florence is so rich in important works of art that it was impossible not to leave a mark on Michelangelo’s upbringing.

A few minutes away the cathedral square unfolds in front of us in a beautiful array of elegant geometric patterns of pink, green and white inlaid marble. We view Brunelleschi’s great dome and the famous bronze doors of the Baptistery deemed worthy of being the “Gates to Paradise” by Michelangelo. We continue to the Medici neighborhood to see the typical Florentine Renaissance exterior made of rough-hewn sandstone and tiers of elegant round arched windows. The Medici lords of the city were, after all, those patrons who allowed Michelangelo to copy Roman statues from their private garden of antique sculptures.

Final stop at the Accademia museum where the original statue of David by Michelangelo stands alone in all its breathtaking beauty . We will also view his famous “Captives” whose energy is palpable as the prisoners of stone appear to free themselves from their marble blocks.

The tour finishes inside the museum with the possibility to visit other sections, such as the recently restored second floor containing famous masterpieces of medieval painting - a real treat for the curious and interested visitor, a part of the museum often overlooked by most people.

Meeting point: under the three arches in the middle of Ponte Vecchio on the side opposite the bust of Cellini, near the fountain, at 09.30 am

Power and Politics

The tour will investigate the role of the Palazzo della Signoria (City Hall) in the history of Florence. We will visit the square and the inside of the palace focusing on the various phases of its construction, from the Middle Ages as seat of the Republican government to the arrival of the Medici as Dukes of the city.

This event will take place only if a minimum booking of 10 tickets is reached. Shouldn't the minimum be reached on the "June 20th" all purchased tickets will be refunded.
